Nice Work by David Lodge
The main characters of the novel Nice Work by David are Vic Wilcox and Robyn Penrose. This novel deals with a professional meeting of two characters with ideas, thoughts completely opposite. Robyn Penrose is teaching English literature at the Rummidge University and Victor Wilcox is a managing director in an engineering company (Pringle). Vic Wilcox is a rather negative person, he doesn´t like things that happens around him. He doesn´t like his wife very much after 30 years of marriage, his lazy and spoiled children’s and other people who live on others money. The book became more interesting to read when Vic and Robyn finally met through the project “Industry Year Shadow Scheme”. One purpose with this project was to bring the academic world closer to the industrial world. Robyn was going to follow – shadow - Vic in his daily work once a week.One day women called Robyn shows up at the factory. She will be a shadow to Vic due to that the government has decided that this year should be the industrial year. Robyn will follow Vic in his daily work. Robyn is a feminist, independent and clever woman. She is determinate and she says what she thinks. However these two kinds of personalities complement each other with their different opinions and skills. They learned a lot from each other through their discussions and started to understand each other. In the business world I think you need a combination of both these two. Throughout the novel, we can see that these two main characters are completely opposed but they will have to make efforts in order to work together. I think the book was good; it was interesting with these two totally different characters and I enjoyed their discussions and the influence they made at each other. I can really recommend this book, just don’t give up after the first chapter – it will be better!

The Story of Stuff!
After watching the clip i must say that clip was interesting and it push our attentionon an important but issue that has been underestimated. Also Annie way of communication and body language help to get the things.
The factors she highloighed and said its "material economy" but it is not thr whole story. But is missing so what she called "System in crisis" and the main reason for this is the system is in crisis due to linear system. She used a diagram to depict the idea and she told that this traditional diagram is "not complete". What is missing ? The main thing is "people" missing. ANd further she stated abouth the governemt that ists the job of governemt to thing on these issues and provide better for the nation but she used an image to illustrates that corporation grows then governmet.
First of all she there is shortage or resources since we are consuming too much and in USA she states that cutting mining is so fast that USA is left only 4 % of forest. Global fisherises and animals lives are also affected. THen Annie point out the side effects of the chemicals used by the industry and how it poluted the envirnmet and incerease rthe cancer rate and also harmful for hte childs and feeding mothers. In bottom line her mening was that we are missing the "Education" and neglecting the "Health care". Fashion also infuance and change the way how stuff works. Advertisment and media she told plays important role and she also states that in USA the arvertismetn rate is too much.But even the people taker interest in shoping too mcuh but still the people hapiness rate is less. People has less leisure time, but it is the fashiopn and advertisment and media that drwa nation attention to the shopping. The result is the garbage and when it is wasted by burning in polutes air , water , and the envirnemt. She said "Stop Burning Trash". So what may be the solution? One idea she stated is the "Recycling". But she also qustion that "does recycling works"? And yes it helps but still not "enough" since we not separe the waste for example the plastic, wood, metal nad glasses. So she said that we should create something new, look around us nad get something new.
All we should thing about the envirnemt and try to keep it clean.
